Johanna Ruppert is a promising young violinist. Concerts brought her to renown Festivals, for example the Festspiele Mecklenburg-vorpommern, the Gezeitenkonzerte, the Festival Euroclassic and the BASF Concerts.
She won the 1st prize of Kiwanis-Wettbewerb in Zurich and the 3rd prize of the International Musiccompetition Hamburg as well as the sponsorship award and the audience award of the International Queen Sophie Charlotte Violincompetition. As a soloist she played with the Jeaner Philharmonie, the Sinfonieorchester Gotha, the Zweibrückner Kammerorchester and the Kammerorchester Kaiserslautern. Johanna is also holder of sponsorships by the Dartington Summerschool, the Schweizer Thyll-Stiftung and the Deutschlandstipendium.
After she took part in the violin competition TONALi in 2014 she is supported by the TONALiSTEN agency which is followed by concerts all over the world. Thus, she is part of a cooperation project with the Mariinsky Theatre, where she will also play in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
She is the artistic director of the Festival Klassik nah dran in Zweibrücken, which is founded in 2017. Together with TONALi she is working on inspiring young listeners for classical music.
Johanna Ruppert was born in 1992 in Saarland and is playing violin with the age of six. In 2011 she started to study under Prof. Andreas Lehmann at the Hochschule für Musik „FRANZ LISZT“ Weimar and also under Prof. Nora Chastain at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Right now, she is studying under Prof. Priya Mitchell and the University of Arts in Graz. Masterclasses with for example Thomas Brandis, Igor Ozim, Conradin Brotbek, Martin Spangenberg, Natascha Prischepenko, Antje Weithaas und Ivry Gitlis also inspired her musical development.
